“Inside The Allure Group’s Audition Strategy for Skilled Nursing Telehealth” in Skilled Nursing News
The Allure Group implemented Telehealth Solution as its telemedicine platform, though not without careful consideration. Allure tested out different systems at two of its six facilities over an 18-month period, with COO Melissa Powell monitoring the situation before making a choice. Telehealth is now used in all six buildings.
“I really just looked at stats and feedback from the line staff, and that was really my metric — how the staff felt interacting with them, and how many hospitalizations I was having and for what reasons,” Powell told SNN.
Telemedicine is viewed as a way to target higher-acuity patients, while also reducing patient readmissions. While the handoff from on-site doctors to third-party physicians was a particular concern at Allure, nurses were quick to embrace the new technology.
