During this season of giving, The Allure Group is giving back. The Allure Group has donated over $5,000 to the American Cancer Society. Pictured above is Megan Hallworth from the American Cancer Society, who was able to come into one of our facilities and accept the donation on behalf of the organization.

Holiday Toy Drive

The Allure Group sponsored a toy drive for the children of New York’s five boroughs this month and we wanted to thank everyone who donated. We are looking forward to spreading this holiday cheer with children in need and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your donations and support!

Sock Drive with DentServ Continues

The Allure Group is proud to partner with DentServ Dental Service, P.C. on a sock drive, an initiative that aims to provide New York City’s homeless with suitable socks.

The sock drive began in mid-November and will continue to the end of January. New or still-packaged and unused socks can be dropped off at any of The Allure Group’s Advanced Recovery Centers or shipped to DentServ’s headquarters in Pelham Manor, New York.

Socks are the item most in demand at homeless shelters (above even food), and that is obviously of particular concern in winter, when frostbite can occur in as little as thirty minutes  — and as few as 10 minutes when temperatures plunge below zero.

Renowned Neurologist and King David Center Minds in Motion Program Director, Dr. Miran Salgado, gave a lecture entitled “Managing Spasticity: Botox and Other Interventions” On Dec. 13 in the Lasha Lounge of Allure’s King David Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. The lecture was part of The Allure Group’s #EducationSeries.

Spasticity, characterized by stiffness, involuntary jerking or convulsions of a muscle or muscle group, is often the result of stroke, brain trauma or spinal cord injury. Botox, when injected into the afflicted muscle, can arrest or reduce the spasms.
