Occupational Therapy Month

April was Occupational Therapy Month and we can not thank all of our OT’s enough for all of their hard work and dedication across our centers.

As an occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant, you are part of a vitally important profession that helps people participate in the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities and our resident’s are very lucky to have you!

This month we are spotlighting two of our incredible OT’s, Franz Mojica from our King David Center and Digna Portillo from our Crown Heights Center.

A huge thank you to all of our Occupational Therapist’s for all that you do for our patients and residents!

Minds in Motion Neurological Rehab Program at King David Center

At King David Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, we’re committed to earning our reputation as the premiere rehabilitation center for Parkinson’s disease. Patients in our Minds in Motion Neurological Rehab program have exclusive access to the Hokoma Lokomat as part of their treatment program.

A recent Parkinson’s case study conducted at King David Center found that our Lokomat Therapy can “improve patients’ overall level of functional performance and therefore increase their quality of life.” We are thrilled to be able to offer this to our patients in our Minds In Motion program. If interested, you can check out the full case study here!

The UAC Delivered 400 Easter Goodie Bags to Bedford Center Residents and Staff

The UAC (United Against Covid-19), a non profit organization, donated around 400 Easter goodies bags for our residents and staff to help make their Easter special this year. Everything was well packed by their volunteers with a handwritten greeting card included. Thank you to UAC for including us in this special project.
